The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Karakalpakstan
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the Republic of Karakalpakstan on August 20, 2019, in order to acquainted with the progress of the creative work being carried out, implementing major projects and dialogue with the people.
Upon arrival in Muynak district, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has become acquainted with ongoing activities on creating small reservoirs in Amudarya River Delta. The project, designed for 2019-2022, is aimed at improving the socio-economic state of Muynak district through effective water resources management.
The President instructed to facilitate the creation of jobs and increasing incomes through the promotion of livestock and fish farming in the district.

In accordance with instructions of the President during his last year’s trip to Muynak district, a government program was adopted on integrated socio-economic development of the district. It envisages the implementation of construction and repair works for 1 trillion 485 billion UZS during 2019-2021.
Over the past period of time, a number of facilities have been commissioned here. An amphitheater with 800 seats and a public services center were built; a culture palace and a stadium as well as a family polyclinic in Bozatau aul were reconstructed.
This July, Muynak Porloq Tex LLC launched a sewing enterprise with creation of 350 jobs.
Outfitted with modern equipment, the enterprise is capable of manufacturing 1 million units of finished sewing and knitting products a year. Currently, duvet covers and sheets, along with specialized clothes are sewn here. It also has a company store. Employees are allocated housing.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev became familiar with the enterprise's activities, and talked with workers.
“The changes taking place in Muynak are very pleasing to me, as are your eyes full of a sense of satisfaction with life. This is the effect of our work undertaken even in the most remote areas. If someone doubts our reforms, let him come to Muynak,” the President suggested.
The Head of the state instructed responsible officials to ensure stable operation of the enterprise, enhance the product range.

Some time in its history Muynak was famed for its fishing industry. During last year’s trip to the district, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev recommended to revive and promote the fishing industry based on existing reservoirs.
Muynak Aqua Sanoat state unitary enterprise, itself a result of this initiative, was established with a project cost of 20 billion soums. It will be possible here to process 4 thousand tons of fish a year, produce 200 tons of smoked fish, 780 tons of minced fish, 400 tons of fillets, 9 million pieces of canned fish. Almost 60 jobs will be created.
Currently, the construction of the enterprise’s building has been completed, equipment is being installed. The plant is scheduled to be commissioned in September.
The President was briefed about the works underway to develop fish farming in Karakalpakstan. 17 projects have been developed for the industry, the implementation of which will bring fish harvesting to 15 thousand tons, and its processing level up to 36 percent.
Attention was also paid to gardening of the dried bottom of the Aral Sea. If in the previous 42 years saxaul plantations were created here on an area of 400 thousand hectares, then starting in 2018 almost 500 thousand hectares are covered with protective forest stands. It was noted that in the next two years, another 700 thousand hectares could be covered with green coat.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has held a meeting with public figures of Karakalpakstan at a culture center in Muynak district.
The Head of the state congratulated the audience on the upcoming Independence Day and conveyed earnest words of respect to people of Karakalpakstan.
“We have started a great cause. We are carrying out in-depth reforms sought to enquire into the concerns of each region, find a way to the soul of every person, and sow the seeds of hope. People should live well not tomorrow, not in the distant future, but today”, the President insisted.
The results of this policy are clearly visible in Karakalpakstan.
Talks about improving the life of the Aral Sea population have been going on for half a century now. But real actions for the good of the region began in the last two years.
At the initiative of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a Multi-Partner Trust Fund for the Aral Sea Region was created under the auspices of the UN. The Aral Sea International Innovation Center under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Aral Innovation Support Fund were organized. Protective greenery is being planted on the dry bottom of the Aral Sea, small ponds are created in Amudarya Delta.
In accordance with the resolution of the Head of the state of February 28, 2017, a number of measures were taken on socio-economic development and ensuring employment of the population in Muynak district.
A government program was adopted to execute the tasks set by the President during his visit to Muynak on November 15 last year. In the district center, a public services center, an amphitheater, a swimming pool, a gym, a school of music and art, a medical institution and other facilities have been erected. 20 multi-storey buildings are under construction.
During a candid dialogue, representatives of the city of Nukus and districts of Karakalpakstan expressed satisfaction with changes in Muynak and spoke about the problems and issues in their localities that require attention. Responsible officials were given instructions to address these shortcomings.
“There’s no need to boast with gigantic buildings, modern technologies. To be able to bring up educated, dedicated children who will serve the Motherland is our greatest wealth and happiness”, the President noted.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with construction project of the mining and metallurgical complex on the basis of Tebinbulak deposit in Karauzak district.
The raw material reserve of the field is estimated at 1.1 billion tons. According to preliminary estimates, it is planned to mine 33 million tons of ore per year and get 1.5 million tons of iron from it.
Measures for implementation of this investment project were determined by the resolution of the Head of the state of January 12, 2018.
Mining and metallurgical complex will have an annual production capacity of 900 thousand tons of fittings, 225 thousand tons of wire, 375 thousand tons of corners, channels and other materials. Implementation of the project will contribute to replacement of a significant volume of imports and sustainable development of industry. The complex will provide employment for more than 2 thousand people. It is planned to export 35 percent of products.
DMT-Group Consulting (Germany) and Horst Wiesinger Consulting (Austria) companies were involved in preparation and implementation of the project.
The President talked with specialists of these companies, noted the need for applying advanced scientific achievements in construction of the complex, creation of scientific and practical school in production of iron products.
The Head of the state gave instructions on development of deeply thought-out feasibility study of the project, attracting mainly young people to its implementation.
